CITY OF TORRANCE 2027:
“Serenity Awaits”
Within a tranquil underwater garden, the City of Torrance’s 2027 Rose Parade float, “Serenity Awaits,” offers a warm and peaceful interpretation of this year’s parade theme, “Welcome.” The float invites viewers into a serene world of natural beauty, harmony, and renewal.
Two magnificent koi fish, glowing in brilliant shades of orange, gold, white, and black, gracefully rise through the garden. Their animated tails gently move from side to side, bringing the koi to life and adding a graceful sense of motion to the design.
Surrounding them is a lush aquatic landscape filled with blooming lotus flowers, sculptural lily pads, flowing water grasses, and colorful underwater foliage. Soft pink, lavender, blue, and white blossoms cascade across the base, weaving between natural rock formations and creating the appearance of a peaceful garden pond. Towering lotus blooms extend above the scene, while gently curved plants and leaves enhance the float’s elegant movement.
The koi and lotus flowers symbolize perseverance, transformation, purity, and renewal. Together, they welcome viewers to pause, reflect, and discover the calming beauty found in nature.
EL ARCA 2027:
“A Safe Place to Belong”
EL ARCA’s 2027 Rose Parade float, “A Safe Place to Belong,” presents a playful tropical paradise where a magnificent, winged mother white tiger lovingly watches over her two young cubs.
Measuring over 32 feet from head to tail, the mother tiger creates a dramatic centerpiece, with the highest point of her wings soaring more than 23 feet above the parade route. Her expansive wings open and close in a gentle, welcoming motion, symbolizing protection, encouragement, love and the freedom to grow. The heads of all three tigers are animated, bringing the family to life as they playfully interact with one another and greet parade viewers.
Surrounding the impressive tiger family is a lush landscape filled with beautiful sculptured tropical flowers, colorful orchids, broad green foliage, and exotic plants. Two real waterfalls flow through the floral gardens, adding movement, sound, and a refreshing sense of life to the vibrant setting.
Inspired by the parade theme, “Welcome,” the float reflects EL ARCA’s commitment to creating a compassionate environment where every person is valued, supported, loved and encouraged to reach their full potential.
